SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training

Skywarn is a program the National Weather Service uses to improve severe storm watches and warnings. Trained volunteers serve as storm spotters. These spotters pass on vital “ground truth” information to forecasters during severe weather events. They are the eyes and ears not only for forecasters, but for the community as a whole Skywarn volunteers come from all walks of life, and generally have two things in common – an interest in weather as well as an interest in serving their community.

Shop Small Saturday November 29

Please Join the Waycross Ware County Chamber of Commerce in this event

During this shopping season remember to shop local and support all our local businesses. Dollars spent out of town return little to our community. Don’t forget your locally owned small businesses. For every $100 spent in a locally owned small business, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures.

Below are Chamber members featuring their unique products. The first 15 customers mentioning Shop Small Saturday will receive a free Shop Small canvas tote bag at these locations.

Center Elementary a School of Excellence

Center Elementary is a school of accomplishment and the home of the Tigers. In the last two years, through the hard work of our students and staff, we have earned the distinguished honor of being recognized as a School of Excellence and a Title 1 Reward School for highest progress. In addition to our accolades, we have three pillars that we stand on: building relationships, challenging students, and preparing students for life transitions.

For 2013-2014, Center’s College Career Readiness Performance Indicator, CCRPI, score of 96.2 was the highest of the eight county districts in the Okefenokee RESA region.
