El Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Okefenokee está experimentando bajos niveles de agua en gran parte del refugio que está afectando el acceso a varios de los refugios durante la noche en el pantano y el cierre de muchas rutas en el Sistema de pista Selva Okefenokee. A partir de noviembre 14, el refugio sólo estará aceptando reservas para acampar durante la noche viajes de dos semanas de antelación, en lugar de dos meses. Las reservas hechas antes de noviembre 14 será honrado como estaba previsto. Reservar sólo dos semanas de antelación debería ayudar al refugio gestionar mejor cancelaciones si el agua sigue cayendo. La Línea canoa reserva está abierta de lunes - viernes de 7:00 A.M. - 10:00 a.m., excepto días festivos federales.

Cinco clases de dos horas y una salida de campo a la tierra de los temblores de la Tierra le permiten disfrutar de los misterios y las maravillas de este magnífico humedal. El instructor utiliza muchos artefactos de animales y plantas, tablones de anuncios, y animales vivos en su presentación. Se anima a los participantes a compartir experiencias personales pertinentes con la clase. No hay requisitos, límites de edad, o pruebas. Los participantes ganan un diploma al finalizar el curso que declara su título oficial de OKEFENOKEOLOGIST.

Well, it almost goes without saying, but we all do, Happy 4th July! Another year older and lets hope wiser, but when you look at the world you begin to wonder if the human race will ever learn.
For those that know me, you’ll be aware that I’m originally from England and contrary to a number of friends and acquaintances, no we don’t celebrate this holiday back in England. As I say, ‘we don’t celebrate our loses’, but I do add that I’m glad we did otherwise I won’t be here in the US now.

When I updated this site to it’s new look I wanted to include a regular’ish post to be added and I had every intention to make it every couple of weeks and at least once a month, but things happen as we all know. I don’t know about you, but I have been crazy and this wish went right out the window because I haven’t pasted since March, and that’s not that regular is it!
With this in mind, I’m turning over a new leaf and making the time to post something, fingers crossed, I did it once for years on a weekly basis in the wjhnews so I can do it here.
Así, what’s new, well I would like to start, not necessarily with the latest news, more of a combination of old and new. The old is more of a thank you to Wayne Morgan for the use of some of his photography on this site. When I did the new look I wanted to include local images and a few weeks ago I even changed the yourwarelocal.com home page people to locals as well, so thank you to all involved in allowing me to use them on the site.
